Cort joined Capital First Trust Company in 2017 and manages the daily administration of settlement trusts and special needs trusts. In his capacity as Trust Officer, Cort works closely with beneficiaries, as well as third party professionals to help ensure the beneficiary’s unique needs are being met.
Cort also acts as an advocate for his beneficiaries. Whether purchasing homes, vehicles, or negotiating with various courts and government agencies across the country, Cort always puts the client’s interest above all else and ensures they are kept up to date in the process.
Cort also leads a team that services the trustee needs of Wispact, Inc. monitoring their unique asset management program, working closely with the Wisconsin Estate Recovery program, advising on fiduciary matters and participating in speaking engagements.
After he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University—Chicago and his Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law, Cort practiced law for nearly five years in Boston, MA before moving home to Wisconsin and joining the Capital First team.
Cort conducts business in both English and Spanish, is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and Wisconsin, and is a Notary Public in Wisconsin.
